About this place
The recommended nigiri comes as a plate of five pieces, and part of the pleasure is waiting to see what arrives. Diners have also described enjoying a succession of more than a dozen different pieces in one omakase sitting at Ecchūya. You can leave the choice to the chef or order individual items you have in mind. Sushi is the focus, but you can work your way through the menu according to the mood of the evening.
Seafood small plates offer another way to pace the meal. The menu includes three kinds of sashimi, kohada cured with vinegar, thinly sliced kawahagi sashimi and oysters with ponzu, making it an option for an evening that starts with a few bites before the sushi. One diner’s account singled out the grilled mehibikari; the menu also lists a crispy mehibikari dish, a possible extra to order before or after the sushi.
Ecchūya opens for dinner and accepts reservations. As reservations are recommended, it may be worth enquiring early once your plans are set.
